The undergoing project on the pioneering India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway is about 70 percent completed. The coming together of India, Myanmar and Thailand will help in opening of the gateways in the fields of business, health, trade, education and tourism among the nations.

Colombo is currently hosting the 67th convention of the Travel Agents Association of India, in a bid to further boost Indian tourist arrivals in the coming years. Sri Lanka is counting on tourists from India, its primary source market, to boost foreign exchange earnings and aid economic recovery.

The first IIT campus to be set up outside India will be in Zanzibar, Tanzania. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up a campus of IIT Madras in Zanzibar was signed between the Ministry of Education, Government of India, IIT Madras and the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Zanzibar, Tanzania on July 5 2023
